Question by Devin: i am building a hydrogen fuel cell to put in my car will it hurt my car?

i have a 1980 pinto and its an older car and i know that a hydrogen fuel cell can duble mpg and boost power by burning the gas faster and burning more of it and i wonted to know if it wuld heat up my car to much or somthing?
im 15 yrs old and a hidrogen fuel cell is VERRY easy to build……..and can it over heat my engine?

You have the mechanical skills and chemical expertise to do that?

I’m impressed.

All the car manufacturers are spending billions of dollars on the same thing, if you can do it in your garage, you should become rich and famous.

I would guess you would need to install it in the rear seat/trunk area and put a Lexan firewall behind the front seats – depending how big the unit is.
You will also need to install a separate a/c unit in the fuel cell area to purge it of any excess gases.

MIT chemists Daniel Nocera and Matthew Kanan have discovered a way to to convert sunlight into chemical fuel by using Cobalt to split water into oxygen and hydrogen. According to Dr. Nocera, water combined with light will split the hydrogen and oxygen in a water molecule, then recombining hydrogen and oxygen will produce energy and water. This means those pollution-free fuel cell vehicles already in the market will be able to acquire their fuel using a sustainable energy source instead of energy acquired from fossil fuels.
