Your Questions About Pictures Of Hydrogen Bond

Donald Your Questions About Pictures Of Hydrogen Bond

Donald asks…

Question about translation and protein bonding?

What is it called when to proteins (i think its called) bond?
Or on the picture when the little black dot on the second thing that looks like a key, joins over to the key that has a bunch of little black dots already at the end of it?

Is it dehyration synthesis, hydrolysis, hydrogen bonding, or transcription

admin answers:

It looks like the black dots are supposed to represent amino acids. The thing that looks like a key is actually tRNA reading the mRNA strand and building a protein, so we are looking at transcription.

William Your Questions About Pictures Of Hydrogen Bond

William asks…

Intermolecular forces of HCL?

This is a tutorial question,
5. Does the boiling point of HCl suggest that it may form hydrogen bonds?
Explain your answer and draw a molecular picture that shows the possible hydrogen
bonds between HCl molecules

I was under the impression that HCL did not form hydrogen bonds. Can someone shed some light on this.

admin answers:

Yes bp suggest that.

To form h-bond you need: H connected to electronegative species and that species having a lone pair(s).

HCl meets the criteria

draw it so lone pair on Cl of a neigboring HCl shares that lone pair with the H
