Mary Your Questions About Pictures Of Hydrogen Peroxide

Mary asks…

I found some seagull bones, and I’d like to clean them?

So I found some seagull bones, (the feathers surrounding the bone area were pretty indicative of the fact that it was a gull) and I’m looking to clean them to make some bone-jewelry out of them, if I can.
The thing is, these bones are pretty old and have no flesh on them (though they do have a salty-air smell) and I’m wondering what the best method of cleaning them is.
Dermestid beetles?
Maceration?
Are they ready to be soaked in hydrogen peroxide?
I’ve included a crappy cell phone picture for any suggestions.
Thanks!

admin answers:

A hydrogen peroxide solution ( 10% ) should be okay, but it also bleaches the bones.

Some times ago a preparateur told me the best method to obtain a naturally looking result is to let ants or microorganisms do the work. Looking for directions, I found these forums:

Nancy asks…

What do you think of these ideas for signs at the next tea party?

I am really excited for the next tea party on April 15th and I want to start on my signs. For mine, I was thinking a square like the periodic table with Baracks picture in it and Bo and then something like H2Bo “Hydrogen peroxide kills capitalism on contact” And by the way yes I did get that idea on here if some of you recognize it. My children will be going and I wanted to make a sign with them that they would think was fun to get them more into the day. So, I thought about letting them color a sign of Mr Crabs from Spongebob and put it on a sign that says Obama you barnacle, Stop spendin all me money!” Any other suggestions?

And I already know what the liberals on here will think of my signs and the tea party so go ahead with the insults…Im ready.
And I think I let the spell checker correct what I wanted spelled wrong. Hydrogen Barackcide is what the sign would say..

Susan asks…

Is my belly button piercing infected?

I’ve had my belly button pierced for a few days shy of a month now.
I got it done at a place called Hot Nails in the mall i go to.
everything was fine at first but now im concerned because the redness around the top ball hasn’t gone away and just last night i was applying hydrogen peroxide as the piercologist told me to when it started fizzing and what looks like white puss came out. But the thing is i couldnt wipe it off, and now there is just a white dot there, and the rest is still red. The bottom looks fine though.
I have to wear a kilt for school uniform and that does rub against the ring constantly so i dont know if thats what irritates it, but for the past week i havent gone to school since its spring break…?
i usually clean it only 3 times a day, once in the shower with soap and then twice with hydrogen peroxide. I tried salt at first but it didnt seem to be working much, and i have polysporin and used it before but it got some of my clothes dirty and its all sticky so i didnt like using it.
So if you could please tell me if it is infected and if so what i need to do to fix it, or if not then just what the hell it is?!
thaanks. – btw…i have some pics too, please look at those & srry theyre not the best quality.

SO… i just need to stop with the peroxide???
but the salt is kinda annoying, would it be okay to just use polysporin?

admin answers:

If you only get the white stuff when you clean with peroxide, then it’s not infected it’s the peroxide in that case. Peroxide will do that bubbly/foaming thing to wounds that aren’t infected. An infected piercing will be bright red (think almost neon) all the time, hurt extremely badly even with nothing touching it, and possibly have white/yellow/green-ish pus all the time.

You should be doing sea-salt soaks. Table salt doesn’t work, it needs to be sea-salt. Dissolve it in hot to warm water, enough salt that the solution tastes strongly of salt. Then dip a cotton ball in the water and gently clean the area. If you really feel the need for something anti-bacterial, then use a plain soap like Dial. It could be irritated from your clothing, but it also could be from you washing it so often. I would cut back to twice a day. Keep in mind that belly button’s can take FOREVER to heal.

Good luck!

What did I do to my gums!! (emergency)!?

So I brushed my teeth like normal, and I was sick of them being so yellow so I decided to also rinse with some mouthwash.
That didn’t do much so I googled it and found if you mix hydrogen peroxide with some baking soda it should clean your teeth really well.
I did that and it burned, and it didn’t seem like it helped. It also make the gum really close to my teeth white.

So I decided to just gargle with the peroxide (My dad’s done it before with no ill effects). Well that hurt like a son of a gun, and when I spit out the peroxide and looked in the mirror, my gums were really white near my teeth and the white area was bigger. The pink part of my gums were red and it looked like I could see veins. I’m worried now that I effed up bad. Picture attached is of my teeth, the lighting is bad but you can make out the white part.

Also, I just checked and it seems like they are (slowly) going back to normal. Should I worry still? Dentist visits are a luxury because we don’t have dental insurance.

admin answers:

The white part of your gums just mean that they’re in pain (obviously as you can see), which means that you should stay away from using too much chemical dental cleaning.

Use warm water as the user mentioned. It should help.

If it’s slowly becoming red, no worries. It’ll come back to normal.

My cat has hair loss under her chin w/ rough swelling. Any ideas?

I noticed at first just a penny sized black coloring on her hair under her chin, it then began to spread causing the hair to fall out. It looks a little swollen and the skin is rough. Sores appeared that bled a little. The little black pieces are everywhere the hair is being lost. I was told it may be an allergic reaction to new food but that isn’t the case. It took about 2 weeks to spread as far as it has. She doesn’t seem to be in any pain, in fact it doesn’t seem to bother her at all but im concerned that it is still spreading. I have applied hydrogen peroxide on it to clean it. Any ideas what it is? and what i can do to remedy it?

here is a picture of what it looks like right now.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

admin answers:

I can’t open the pic but has anyone mentioned ring worm? It causes hair lose and rough scaly looking skin. You would need a vet visit to diagnose and treat. If it is ring worm you can get it also. Make sure you wash your hands with a 10 to 1 mixture of water and bleach to prevent spreading.

And here is the culprit.. (don’t let the face fool you.. she’s vicious!=D)

HPIM1147 Your Questions About Pictures Of Hydrogen Peroxide

It happened yesterday around maybe 6:30 or so? I’m not exactly sure. Not too long after it happened I put some Hydrogen Peroxide to clean out all the dirt and stuff, but that is pretty much it. I have a high pain tolerance so it doesn’t hurt very bad, just kinda burns and even if it did hurt really bad I would be the last person to complain…

So.. Yeah, that’s my question. How do I need to treat this rope burn? Thanks!! icon smile Your Questions About Pictures Of Hydrogen Peroxide

admin answers:

All scrapes and abrasions are treated about the same, you scrub them with soap, water and a soft cloth then you apply a topical antibiotic cream.
