Susan asks…
Can Hydrogen peroxide be used as a fungicide for fish egg fungus? If so in what ratio?
I raise tropical fish and have heard about using Hydrogen peroxide to keep fungus from attacking unhatched eggs. For years I’ve been using Methylene Blue with mixed results.
admin answers:
Better to avoid it. Without knowing the details of your water chemistry almost to the minute, it can either be deadly to the eggs or totally ineffective. Further, it will break down in the tank so quickly that it would only have a antifungual effect for minutes at best.
I would suggest a slightly stringer ration of Methlene blue or swaping to something like maroxy.
Depending on the tpye of fish you are breeding, salt can also be a very effective fungicide for the eggs. For various common fungi, salt at about 0.5% (1 tablespoon per 2 gallons) is very effecting. Do some research on your specific fish first though.

Linda asks…
Is baking soda and hydrogen peroxide used as a whitener unhealthy for teeth and gums?
I want whiter teeth but not unhealthy teeth. WIll hydrogen peroxide and baking soda damage my mouth? Can I over do it?
admin answers:
Its the best thing done. Usually after flap surgery ,the periodontist advices the patient to use backing soda & hydroge peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide kills anerobs which is lodged inside the periodintal pockets & it releases neasent oxygen to bleach the teeth.

Paul asks…
Can you use hydrogen peroxide to bleach hair?
Can you use hydrogen peroxide (3% H2O2) to bleach small sections of hair? I mean, I’ve heard of using peroxide to bleach hair, but I’m wondering if hydrogen peroxide will work. Just for some minor stuff, like annoying black hairs near my belly button…
So can I use Hydrogen Peroxide or should I just go out and actually buy something just for this…?
Thank you!

I would cut a a swatch of hair off and wrap a small rubber band around it so that you will have an adequate amount of hair to work with. Then, I would put the peroxide on it and then blow dry it. If it isn’t light enough, then do it again. Check the condition of the hair each time you do this to make sure it isn’t damaging it. Maybe you can lighten it enough to make some highlights. Just experiment with the swatch and it will give you your answer.
