With a background in petroleum engineering I’d have thought a good place to start would be with the petro-chemical companies. Many of these are diversifying into alternative and renewable energy sources and as they expand into these areas it would seem likely that they’re going to need people with the relevant skills.
If you can secure a placement with one of these companies and learn something of their core business it would stand you in good stead for a subsequent career opening.
A possibility would be to gain a few years experience with a major company then look at establishing your own business, perhaps with your original employer outsourcing contracts to your new business.
Good luck, hope it all works out for you.

Bioenergy- Biomass…. what are the differences?
whats the differerence between bio energy and bio mass?
admin answers:
Biomass:-
refers to living and recently dead biological material that can be used as fuel or for industrial production. Most commonly, biomass refers to plant matter grown for use as biofuel, but it also includes plant or animal matter used for production of fibres, chemicals or heat. Biomass may also include biodegradable wastes that can be burnt as fuel. It excludes organic material which has been transformed by geological processes into substances such as coal or petroleum.
Biomass is grown from several plants, including miscanthus, switchgrass, hemp, corn, poplar, willow and sugarcane. The particular plant used is usually not very important to the end products, but it does affect the processing of the raw material. Production of biomass is a growing industry as interest in sustainable fuel sources is growing
bioenergy:-
Bioenergy is renewable energy made available from materials derived from biological sources. In its most narrow sense it is a synonym to biofuel, fuel derived from biological sources. In its broader sense it encompasses also biomass, the biological material used as a biofuel, as well as the social, economic, scientific and technical fields associated with using biological sources for energy

Should Obama eliminate these programs in the Department of Agriculture?
Look at how many programs we have that duplicate efforts in the federal government. Should Obama pick one program and eliminate the rest. For example. under the Biomass program we have 4 programs for ethanol production. They are:
Biomass Crop Assistance Program
Biorefinery Program for Advanced Fuels Program
Biobased Products and Bioenergy Program
Biorefinery Repowering Assistance Program
Should we pick one and consolidate everything else under these programs. How many employees does the federal government need in this area?
